Venus Retrograde 2026 and the Relationship You’re Keeping
Galaxia describes what a chart shows, not what will happen. How we write about astrology →

Venus turns retrograde on October 3, 2026, and stays retrograde until November 13, about 41 days. It begins in Scorpio and moves backward into Libra.
Almost everything published about Venus retrograde is aimed at one audience: people who are dating, or thinking about an ex. “Do not text them.” “Do not start something new.” That is fine advice for the people it is for. It just does not say much to the far larger group who are in a relationship they intend to keep.
If that is you, this is for you.

Venus governs love, values, attraction, money, and what we find beautiful. About every 19 months it appears to move backward for about six weeks, an effect of orbital geometry. Astrologers read it as a period of review: a time when the things Venus rules come up to be reconsidered.
This time the sequence matters. It begins in Scorpio, which is associated with depth, intensity, trust, and what we keep hidden. It moves back into Libra, the sign Venus rules, which is about partnership, balance, fairness, and the terms of a relationship.
So the themes of this retrograde run from what is underneath toward what is fair between us. That is unusually relevant for people in committed relationships.
What review means when you are staying
For a single person, review often means an old flame reappearing. For someone in a long-term relationship, it tends to look more ordinary, and more useful:
- Revisiting an agreement you made a long time ago that no longer fits
- Noticing that something has gone unsaid for a while
- Reassessing how you divide effort, money, or attention
- Feeling nostalgic for how things used to be, and asking what you would want back
None of this is a prediction, and none of it means trouble. It is a set of questions the timing makes easier to ask.
Do not make big decisions? Sort of.
The standard advice is not to commit to anything major during a Venus retrograde. Here is a more precise version for people who are already committed:
Reviewing is good. Deciding in haste is not.
A retrograde is a good time to notice, discuss, and adjust. It is a poor time to end something because of a single hard week, or to make a sweeping promise because of a single good one. You are gathering information. You can make the decision when Venus goes direct on November 13.
Which of you does this touch?
As with any transit, this does not land on everyone equally, and it does not land on a Sun sign. It lands where Scorpio and Libra sit in each person’s chart.
- If you or your partner has planets in Scorpio or Libra, especially Venus, the Moon, or the Sun, this transit is more likely to be felt directly.
- If your partner’s Venus sits near where yours is being triggered, it can land on the relationship itself.
- If neither of you has planets in those signs, you may find the whole thing passes with little fuss.
This is why two people in the same relationship can experience the same retrograde very differently. One may feel a need to talk it all through while the other feels nothing has changed. Seeing both charts side by side helps make sense of that.
A gentle 41-day approach
You do not need a ritual. Here is a light structure:
Weeks 1–2: Notice what is going unspoken. Small things you have been avoiding saying.
Weeks 3–5: Look at fairness. Who does what, who gives more, what you would change if it were easy.
Final week and direct station: Bring one thing to your partner you would like to adjust. Ask for one change, and say it as a request.
Do it because it is useful, not because the sky said so.

What we will not tell you
We will not tell you your relationship is doomed, or blessed, or that you will meet someone new, or that your ex will text you. No one can know that from a chart, and anyone who says they can is guessing. How Galaxia handles astrology.
What a chart can do is show where a transit is actually making contact, which is what you need to decide whether any of this is relevant to you.
