Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8/19/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Galaxia collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the Galaxia application and the website at galaxiamea.com (together, the "Service").

Galaxia is a relationship-intelligence application that uses astrology as a lens for understanding the people close to you. Because the Service is built around birth information — including birth information about other people you choose to add — please read this Policy carefully. It describes practices that are specific to a product of this kind.

If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.

1. A note on the nature of the data we handle

Galaxia is unusual in two ways that shape this entire Policy, and we want to be direct about them up front:

  • You provide information about other people. To create charts and relationship readings, you add other people to your galaxy and provide their birth details. Those people are often not Galaxia users and may not know you have added them. Section 5 explains your responsibilities and their rights.
  • The Service involves birth details and relationship context. Birth date, birth time, birth place, and the nature of your relationships are personal and, in some regions, may be treated as sensitive. We handle this information accordingly and do not sell it.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and an authentication credential (a hashed password, managed by our authentication provider). If you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive the basic profile information that provider shares.

Your own birth information. To generate your chart, we collect the information you enter about yourself, which may include your name or a display name, birth date, birth time, and birth place (location). Birth time and place may be approximate or omitted; where data is incomplete, the Service is designed to indicate reduced precision rather than guess.

Birth information about people you add ("People"). For each person you add to your galaxy — which may include partners, family members, friends, colleagues, and people who have passed away — you may provide their name or a label, birth date, birth time, birth place, the relationship they have to you, and whether they are a minor. Section 5 governs this information specifically.

Relationship and interaction content. This includes the labels and categories you assign, comparisons you run between people, and any notes or inputs you provide, as well as your conversations with our AI guide, Vela (Section 6).

Payment information. When you subscribe, payment is processed by our third-party billing providers (Section 7 and Section 9). We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We receive limited billing metadata such as subscription status, plan, renewal dates, and the result of a transaction.

Communications. If you contact us (for example at help@galaxiamea.com), we receive the contents of your message and our correspondence with you.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we and our infrastructure providers automatically collect certain technical information, which may include your device and browser type, IP address, general location inferred from IP address, pages or screens viewed, actions taken, timestamps, and diagnostic or crash data. This information helps us operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2.3 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to run the Service (for example, to keep you signed in) and, where applicable, to understand usage so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • create and maintain your account and authenticate you;
  • generate astrological charts, comparisons, and relationship readings from the birth information you provide;
  • operate the Vela AI guide and respond to your requests within it;
  • process your subscription, trial, renewals, and cancellations;
  • provide customer support and respond to your communications;
  • secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
  • operate the Service's safety features, including features that limit certain content where a person has been indicated to be, or is calculated to be, a minor;
  • diagnose problems, analyze usage, and improve the Service; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

We do not use birth information or relationship information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about anyone, and we do not permit the Service to be used for such purposes (see the Terms of Service).

4. The astrological readings are computed, not clinical

Charts and readings are generated from the birth information provided, using astrological calculation and pre-written interpretive content. They are provided for personal insight, reflection, and entertainment. They are not statements of fact about any person, and they are not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice. This Policy governs how we handle data; the Terms of Service govern how the readings themselves may be used.

5. Information about other people ("People you add")

This section is central to Galaxia and to your responsibilities.

Your representation. When you add a person and provide their birth details, you represent to us that you are permitted to provide that information and to use the Service in connection with it, and that you will handle any resulting readings responsibly. You are responsible for the People you add.

People who are not users. The people you add generally do not have Galaxia accounts and may not know they have been added. We rely on you as the source of their information. We do not contact the people you add, and we do not use their information to build separate profiles of them outside your galaxy.

Requests from people you have added. If someone contacts us and asks whether they appear in a user's galaxy, or asks us to access, correct, or delete information about them, our ability to respond is limited because that information is contained within your private account and we cannot always identify it or verify their identity. Where we can act consistent with law and without compromising other users' privacy, we will, and we may ask for your cooperation. Depending on your jurisdiction and theirs, individuals may have legal rights in their own information, and you are responsible for honoring your obligations to them.

People who have passed away. Galaxia is intentionally designed so that a person who has died remains part of your galaxy and their chart remains readable, in a distinct remembrance treatment. We store and process this information to provide that feature. Laws protecting the information of deceased individuals vary by jurisdiction; where such information is protected, your representations and responsibilities above continue to apply.

Minors you add. You may indicate that a person you add is a minor. When a person is indicated as, or is calculated to be, a minor, the Service applies safety limitations to the content shown about them, including restricting romantic or partnership-oriented interpretation. You must not use the Service to add a minor for any purpose that would sexualize, endanger, or harm that minor, and you represent that you have an appropriate basis for including any minor in your galaxy.

6. Vela (AI features) and how your data is processed by AI

Vela is an AI guide within the Service. When you use Vela, the information needed to answer your request — which may include birth-derived chart data and the context of the relationship you are asking about — is sent to our AI processing provider (currently Anthropic) to generate a response.

We send only what is needed to fulfill your request. Our AI provider processes this information on our behalf to return a response to you and, under our agreement with them, does not use your inputs or outputs to train their general models. Vela's responses are generated and may be imperfect; they are not a substitute for professional advice and should not be relied upon in an emergency or crisis (see the Terms of Service).

If you do not wish to have information processed by our AI provider, do not use Vela; the rest of the Service does not require it.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only in these circumstances:

With service providers (subprocessors). We use trusted third parties to run the Service. They may process information on our behalf only to provide services to us, and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. Our current categories of subprocessors are:

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseDatabase, authentication, and storage of account and chart data
VercelApplication hosting and delivery
RevenueCatSubscription management and entitlements
StripePayment processing
ResendSending and delivery of transactional email
AnthropicAI processing for the Vela feature

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Galaxia, our users, or the public, or to prevent or address fraud, security, or technical issues.

In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

With your direction. If you choose to share a chart or reading (for example, via a share link), the information you choose to share will be accessible according to how you share it.

8. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We retain information about People you add, including people who have passed away, for as long as they remain in your galaxy or as long as your account is active, because continued readability of those relationships is a core function of the Service.

When you delete a person, or delete your account, we delete or de-identify the associated personal information within a commercially reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted to retain it (for example, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, or keep necessary financial records). Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

9. Payment data

Payments are handled by RevenueCat and Stripe. Your full payment card details are collected and stored by those providers under their own security standards and privacy terms, not by Galaxia. We receive and store limited billing information such as your subscription plan and status, trial and renewal dates, and transaction results, which we use to manage your access and support you.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including access controls that isolate each user's data so that one user cannot access another user's information, encryption of data in transit, and restricted internal access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

If we become aware of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities where required by law.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and you must meet the minimum age in our Terms of Service to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) as an account holder. If you believe a child has created an account or provided information to us as an account holder, contact us at help@galaxiamea.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

This is distinct from information about a minor that an adult user provides when adding that minor as a person in their galaxy, which is governed by Section 5. [This area — the distinction between a minor account holder and a minor added as a subject, and the requirements of COPPA and equivalent laws — should be reviewed by counsel, as it depends on product decisions about who may hold an account and who may be added.]

12. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • to access the personal information we hold about you;
  • to correct inaccurate information;
  • to delete your information;
  • to obtain a portable copy of information you provided;
  • to restrict or object to certain processing;
  • to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • to appeal a decision or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

You can access and update much of your information directly in the Service, and you can delete your account within the Service, which removes your associated personal information as described in Section 8. To exercise any right, you may also contact us at help@galaxiamea.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

For residents of California: we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require offering a right to limit. You may exercise the access, deletion, correction, and non-discrimination rights described above.

For residents of the EEA and UK: the legal bases on which we process your information include performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (for example, for optional features), our legitimate interests (such as securing and improving the Service), and compliance with legal obligations. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13. International data transfers

The Service is operated and hosted in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate or required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
